Leg 48 – Loch Lomand to Bridge of Orchy

Starting at Loch Lomand and Ending at Bridge of Orchy

The Days Journey

Leg 48 18.8 miles 2200 feet

The power of people.

Rarely am I shocked in life, but today well I am truly truly shocked.
Let me enlighten you.

We set off at 7:17 am to be greeted with a 1 and a half hour journey back to the finish point of yesterday, starting late, is for me so very wrong it just makes your day long so I set off grumpy and tired . I am struggling sleeping at moment not sure why but at 1.30 this morning I was wide awake and at 5 am I was still wide awake managed another hour or so but 4-5 hours for a Ram is not good.
Oh how my day changed.
First off Gary.
Just a guy walking his dog but we ended up walking with him for over 3 miles chatting all the way (something) Lamb is very good at ( god I will miss her when she goes).
Then after Gary left we knew we were meeting Steve & Donna
I won’t go into to much detail how these guys got involved with CF that’s up to them but they are great fundraisers north of the border and made the effort to come up from Glasgow to meet, chat, swap ideas and walk with us, just wonderful, they are both a few years younger than me and Lamb but it’s great to see so much enthusiasm ,they as I say …..are carrying the Baton for Cystic Fibrosis .They walked with us for a good few miles then turned back to catch a train home, what commitment to journey up to meet people they have never met before.
Then We were dropping into our last 4 miles or so and I clocked a bloke walking towards us, I thought I know him! But it can’t be…… it was. Manhar had driven up from Manchester, set off at silly o’clock to meet two people just walking, I ask would you go to that effort, I know I would struggle, god bless him what a Legend a real Legend.
Then to top off everything he said I have brought a few treats?????
Well me and Lamb sat down to Beer, Chocolate Cake, Red Wine, White Wine, Coffee & Southern Comfort.
I kid you not he brought all those items for us I am…….sorry we are, truly shocked, we finished went for a few pints he drove us back to Motorhome and has now set off Home to Manchester!
So if your day is spent wondering if people are nice or if they mean well, I tell you what I have met loads today, hope you have the honour to meet some as good as we have today.

Track of the day sorry I have a guilty pleasure every now and then, his voice is just stunning.
